The First Age
Innocent & eager
A working waterfront in honest morning light. Brass is polished bright; the workshop hums with new mechanization. Nobody knows what it costs yet.
A time-travelling builder
Three ages of one shore city. You play the Engineer — the only person who can move between them.
You win by making yourself unnecessary.
Learn to make the same wondrous things cleanly — across generations — until the world heals enough that you can set down the work and retire into an ordinary life. Every era is a layer over the same place: the same harbor, the same workshop, the same small room with a steam boiler quietly turning green in the corner.
The First Age
A working waterfront in honest morning light. Brass is polished bright; the workshop hums with new mechanization. Nobody knows what it costs yet.
The Second Age
Gaslit parlors and a city grown too big to walk in a morning. Reformers organize in good faith. The works quarter belches confident smoke. Something is beginning to be doubted.
The Third Age
Airships moor at dusk against an indigo sky. The city is refined now, almost beautiful. Only someone moving between the ages can see what's been accumulating.
